    checkered bonnet

    hey guys, thinking of doing a checkered bonnet on my car and after your thoughts. was going to buy another bonnet so i still have the original, paint it gloss black and then have a signwriter do vinyl sticker work on the bonnet. what do u think?? heres a pic of what i am kinda thinking of

    can just vinyl wrap it also, though the repainted bonnet will be heaps cooler

    yea I reckon just vinyal (spelling?) wrap the whole thing.


    not that gettting another bonnet and DIYing the whole thing would be that hard at all...

    vinyl is cheap but won't last as long the black will fade quick and won't be a proper black will either be brownish,blue or redish, thats if you go one printed piece.

    you can go one big piece of white, and black vinyl squares over the top but the black will peel eventually.

    either way you pay about 100-200 bucks for all that vinyl unless you can find some one to get you trade prices

    don't know what the spare bonnet will cost you but for the price of the bonnet and some spray cans you have something that will last a lot longer

    Vinyl is cheap and should last 5 years or so. 8 years if you buy the good stuff.

    Go direct to a supplier http://www.supply1.com.au/ and buy the vinyl direct.

    Cut the squares yourself.

    You can also get slipping agent from the signwriters supply shop that'll let you position the squares easily.

    There's all sorts of crazy colours available too.

    i just spoke to a signwriter and he said it would cost 180 to have all the white squares put on. anyone have a bonnet?
