Central locking is a handy thing, especially if you have deleted the lock pulls! Directions are for doors with the large/later model locks.
1. get a kit, mine was affordable from jaycar and called iron eagle/fox/dolphin but i believe they are all pretty similar.
2. remove door card, remove door lock. (there is a slot in the bottom of the lock and with a flat screwdriver you can push something and avoid having to remove the inner release lever.
3.see images for directions on crafting the post. (it will be mirrored on the passenger side) 2 pair of pliers work. the offset is important to avoid touching the inner door release wire.
4. the white plastic arm that attaches to the lock pull is what the electric lock will attach to. use a flame to soften it, fit the wire and bend to the angle it will work at. be careful as that plastic burns with a close to invisible flame and its easy to burn yourself..this will make more sense in practice.
5. mount the elec servo, see measurements and position in photo. 32mm over and 25mm down from the bottom of the hole. parallel to the edge of the door.
6. pay attention to where you run the wires in the door as you dont want them to foul the window mech or have your connections in the water that inevitably gathers.
7. obviously fuse the wire that you would run from the H (large, always on) terminal on the early mk1 fuse panel.
get a kit with 2 masters so you can un/lock from either side.
