Carbie Jetting
Just pulled all jets out of the 32/36 weber (DGV i think) to see what its running and if i have to adjust
engine is the following
rebuilt 1.8L (has about 30000k on it at a guess. so still fresh)
32/36 weber
extractors
bigger cam (unknown size)
Jets are following
Primary main 145
Primary air correction 135
Primary idle 60
Secondary main 155
Secondary air correction 160
Secondary idle 50
any recomendations?
car runs, but plugs says its running "hot" temp doesnt go over half, i cant cant get into second side of carb cause it nose dives and dies (lean?)
and timing seems right at about 8BTDC.
Only got unleaded in atm, still got half a tank to burn through before i put premium in and see if it makes a difference.

Your 1800 might prefer 0° advance depending on which year it is.
Jetting seems about standard for that carb, I've just pulled on eapart with similar jetting.
Still think it might be your vac advance dizzy causing you grief. When you open up the secondary what do you suppose that does to the vacuum signal?
At a guess I'd imagine your vacuum drops and the dizzy losses whatever advance it had sucked up, maybe 20° ? That'd probably explain the behaviour you're seeing.
I've had DCDs DGVs DGAvs run OK with a vac dizzy, but I've also got one that hates them and I had to change it for a mech advance unit.

Not sure on what year it is,
Are all dizzy's mechanical and vacuum? so if i block off both hoses it will work?

I'd try blocking off the hoses and see if that fixes the transition.
There's mech advance in there but the vac pulls in a bit more.
It's a simple job to convert them to completley mechanical advance, you basically just remove the can and change the springs on the advance weights.
Just what springs to use is where the science/magic comes into it. That's best set up by an autosparky that's got the tools to properly set the advance curve. The guys that do LPG conversions can set them up.
Performance igntions in Nunawading set one up for me.

Ahh ok then,
was just reading on google that vacuum advance is for help fuel economy and part throttle power..
will go block off both lines and see what happens
