    mk1 recaro seat rail/bases?

    Hi guys,
I was hoping someone could help me with some options for mounting some recaro seats into my 1980 mk1.
    Any advice would be useful

People have been sticking Recaro seats into MK1 Golfs for about 38 years now.

I think it's safe to assume that it's all pretty well figured out by now.

Recaro themselves used to make the adapters. Haven't seen a genuine Recaro adapter in a while.

Another option would be to cut up some old MK1 seat bases and make your own.

Well, after talking to a few other people about this I came to the conclusion that making my own would be the most solid and cost effective option. I was also told that some of the aftermarket ones were of poor quality.
I was going to use mk1 bases because I shade spares but someone (old man) tossed them...
I also had some mk3 height adjustable ones so I started cutting...
I'm halfway through the drivers side so when it comes to the passenger side I'll post some progress shots/ instructions from my experience.
