When the Hume was designed it so so an Average car with an average drive could comfortable travel at 90mph (this was in the unlimited days)
Now consider an average car was probably a EH Holden and an average driver has relatively low skills you understand why fatalities on that road are usually due to boredom

I personally like the wheels, but I bet your next go will still look good

The hume is so damn boring. When im in the mk1, 100kmh feels like 180kmh hahaha, so its not too bad. BUt its definately boring in my mk6. I could fall asleep at the wheel!

As for the sump, weld it man, dont run a bead of sealant. I have busted so many sumps haha, trust me. Its only steel too, so anyone with a decent welder should be able to fix it in 30 seconds!

thats what im hoping.. moving down in 3 weeks or so, so need to get the mk1 perfect enough to travel with my life in the back. if its any less boring then in the e30 then it wont suck.

i'll come and get that sump off you after i move down, may aswell have the peace of mind.
But no really, I like to look distinguished when I step out of the car. People are like, "wonder what he does for living."

I had fixed half the broken crap but that just meant it was still halfway inoperable

thats it, seems like the whole scene is down victoria way so its not necessarily a bad thing haha.

took the sump of today and welded where the crack was, a bit sketchy but its holding water so it should be all good to go. hopefully it all holds for another month or 2 till everything can be perfected.

moving out to burwood to study a bachelor of science at deakin uni!

the reinforced sump would be a god send, doesnt look like theres actually bad roads in melbourne though.

Question 1: how long is a mk1 clutch cable supposed to be? im trying to adjust it to bring the pedal down to accelerator height and ive only got about 1 centimetre of adjustment in the gearbox end of the cable.

question 2: what glue did they originally use to put the quarter window latches on? ive used epoxy and it just falls right off, even the window guys stuff fell straight off.

    cheers
