    Unhappy Broke down today...

Took my daughter for a driving lesson today and I notice a spray of water come up on the bonnet, look over at the temp guage and notice its up about 3/4's of the way - ooh not good. We are in the middle of nowhere and I get her to pull over. I pop the bonnet and find water sprayed everywhere. I then notice a t-piece is broken and one of the hoses that go to the heater is broken off, hence draining my radiator.

Rang my husband (lucky he was home), got him to bring water, try Supercheap for a connection of some sort (without luck so I told him just to bring electrical tape). After about 45 minutes he arrives, I tape it up as best I can, fill it back up and try driving it. Trouble is its not sealing and I have to keep stopping to top it up. Eventually get it to the mechanics where it is sitting overnight waiting for them when they open up in the morning. Fingers crossed I havent killed it.

All good. The t-piece was replaced with a brass one, the radiator flushed and $125. He checked it over and said it looked good (first time I have taken it to that mechanic since I bought it). Phew.

Good to see it's all sorted.

Sure mk1's do these things from time to time but you can always fix them somehow! good luck trying this with a mk5.
