    Hey guys,

They are 239mm rotors and calipers to suit. The discs however are solid.
They are exactly the same calipers as the brakes on my other mk1 which have ventilated rotors.
They are still an improvement over the stockies!

I have edited out the GTI claims... Thanks for the correction guys!

Don't how the cabbie brakes are ok compared to the old GTI model's!

They are the same brakes as a Mk1 GTI! haha

All the part #'s are the same right down to the master cyl's & booster's!

Well I believe the Cabbies especially the newer ones have mark 2 servo and master cylinder on them, whereas the older ones have mark 1. Am I wrong ?

I have owned several of both and the GTI does seem to have crap brakes! You would think because it is lighter the hardtop would stop quicker.

This is just in my experience, the point being the cabbie brakes are OK, if set up right.

Late model Mk1 Cabrios have the same brakes and servo as Mk1 Golf GTIs

These are different to those on standard Aussie M1s. The booster is bigger, the master is different and the brakes are vented on the GTI.

Crap brakes on a GTI is usually linkage adjustment, or normal wear and tear. I`d check pads, linings, flush the fluid and adjust the linkage bar.
