these ones come with non ventilated rotors. Not sure of the thickness.

Just wondering what kind of brake options are for a mk1.

A car I purchased is a mk1 cabrio gti, it seems to be a import. I just want to know what there is out there to make that brakes a little better than what they already are.

    Cheers Steve
The cabbie brakes are OK compared to the old GLS or old GTI models.

Mine felt spongy and weak, just check the rear drums are adjusted up well and then bleed your system, it will make a lot of difference. If you want a little more of a firm peddle put braided hoses on.

You can do the mark2 conversion, but hard to find and not worth the effort as the later mark1's have decent brakes you just need to set them up right.

Don't how the cabbie brakes are ok compared to the old GTI model's!

They are the same brakes as a Mk1 GTI! haha

All the part #'s are the same right down to the master cyl's & booster's!

Just double check what brakes they are first.

If there solid disc's as stated, there not GTI.
