it's not as tidy close up, but it is fairly straight. i haven't pulled the carpets yet, but the main rust is in an area unique to cabby's, the rear corners where the roof seals.
if you buy it and want it really low, like this one. you can get cheap coilover kits from the UK from $400/500, but the are ridiculously stiff

I'm not really looking to go low with my next one, happy to keep it reasonably stock.

I had an immaculate white MKI Cab up until about 4 years ago and itching to get another one looking good.

I might pm you to discuss how further you can assist me??

    Cheers

    don't be silly.

if you can't work on your own mk1 you really shouldn't have one.

its the harsh but true reality, they're super simple just get balls deep and figure it out

You still need someone to look over your shoulder to make sure you aren't doing something silly. Like getting oil or grease on the brake pads or overtightening something. Real easy to do, real easy to prevent if you've got someone who knows what they are doing.

    Cheers

Cheers Paul, I appreciate that. I wish I knew more. Too busy playing sport on the weekends when everyone else had their head under the bonnet!

Get hold of a book called How to Keep Your Volkswagen Rabbit Alive: A Manual of Step by Step Procedures for the Compleat Idiot.

    Ballpark figure assistance please!!-615k2qeclol-_ss500_-jpg

It's easily the best manual on MK1 Golf's and really easy to understand. Lots of cartoons to make things simpler to understand and treats you like a total newbie so all the instructions are geared towards someone who has never done the repair before.

That's good advice. I'll hit up Amazon and grab myself a copy.

    Cheers for that.
