    I can't help you here, but just wondering if you are gonna apply that red suff (rust converter?) also to the outside or just to the inside of your mk1?

    George, this looks like its a cut and weld job to do it properly. you will need to cut and make a new panel using a template of the original part before you cut it out, by using template paper, its like gasket making paper. George give me a buzz this weekend and come and have a look at this silver mk1 in my street. before he advertises it. its not too bad for what it is.

    Spent some time today to clean all the surface rust around where the rain try was previously. It was soo hard to clean everything while remaining the curve. Thank you flappy disc

    Also, what do i do with this deeply stained rust? I couldnt clean it anymore. Treat it, or cut it?
