My era? When I got my licence we used to modify Austins because there weren't any decent Japanese cars yet (or any Golfs). The lowest profile tyre were 60's (really crappy polyester tyres) and if you had a V8 you were top dog.

And you always carried a toolbox in the car because they were always breaking down.

You young whippersnappers don't know how lucky you have it.

    Haha my dad just laughs.
Fatter and taller tyres were better (I still think wide is)
Adding stuff in to perform better, here I am working out what I can remove to make me lower (sways etc) and trying to figure out what's the best brakes regarding wheel clearance rather then braking performance.

Georgey when's it getting a stance nation banner

Hahaha, mate I think I'd walk before I put a 60 profile tire on my car! But in all fairness, the civic is built for race/handle, and the golf is a bit of fun

Hey dude, nah going a different route. Sourcing parts and will slowly start making a replacement instead of the cage! Keep an eye out for that

Started playing around with the window wiper today, will be re drilling the the holes thst hold the motor, so get the motor sitting inside so it's hidden away. Just waiting to get my hands on a mk3 motor. Will also be drilling a hole, and welding a bolt from the inside of the firewall to make a mounting point for the wiper mechanism, hidden ofcourse. Just have to brainstorm a bit more and sleep on the idea.

Finally finished the rest of the seats and rails. It's super low, I love it haha. Seats are very comfy too, and I will be sorting out the accell pedal soon too. Overall good progress. Slowly ticking more boxes

Sorry dude lol, that was sold to a friend ages ago, and then the car was sold to a guy in Sydney. It's a white 4 door with Simmons mesh.

Just curious if anyone knows a way around using a cable speed sensor for the mk1/2/3 8v gearboxes. Doing some more welding in the bay and questioning whether or not I should weld up the hole. Is there anyway to do it electrically?

    Thanks!

Ps. The engine bay is getting much closer, spoke to a panel beater friend and got pushed in the right direction for painting and filler etc. getting eager.
