    Yes ... But I cheated and bought a JD Engineering ECU and harness to suit a Mk3 (as per the Cupra electrics). It was beyond me to get it running - just too many accessories to fit neatly in the car and still maintain limp-modeless driving!!

    The R is brand new, but scored for sub-50k OTR, which is one of the better deals I've seen.

    I tend to agree, TBH The R is a very nice thing as an allround package, but it's just a car and will never tingle nerve endings like a tinny Mk1 where you can feel everything through the pedals and 'wheel. Driving one everyday is a different ballgame, though!
