Attributes of "ORIGINAL" VW GOLF Gti

There is a hot topic in "What's in eBay" about a real Mk1 Gti. So why not put a thread here to list out what made Mk1 Gti a real original Mk1 Gti. Even better if moderator can make this as sticky.
Original means the first generation Mk1 Gti that came out from German factory in 1976.

Here is my limited knowledge, feel free to add any 'true fact'

    K-jetronic fuel injection

    Transmission
    4 Speed

    Interior
    Black head lining
Oil pressure and temp gauge in center console

    Exterior
    GTI wheel arches
Red surround front grill, Single head light, GTI front badge
    13" Alloy wheel

    Colour
Only Red, White, Black and Silver

All Mk1 Gti are good, the best is what you like. Purpose of this thread is to add information, not argue

I would say a '76 model or the campaign edition of '83.....

about 2 years ago, i saw a helios blue mk1 campaign (imported from the UK) in trading post when i was still in the UK for sale in QLD.....does anyone know what happened to it or who bought it? Knowing i was coming over here, i phoned up for it and was told it had just been sold to an enthusiast......anyone on here

'76 GTIs had steel wheels. Depending on the market whether it had dual headlights.
They also had a funny square oil cooler. Later ones had a Beetle oil cooler.
They only made '76 models for two months (June - July) so there was not many produced.

'76-'78 models had black steel bumpers.
