Arrgh!! Working out coolant hose part numbers!

    Hi Fellas/ Fellettes

I need to replace a few hoses on my 1991 Mk 1 cabriolet (built 7/1990 VIN WVWZZZ15ZLK033541) and for the life of me I can't work out the numbers from vagcat - my local parts place hates Euro questions! Do I have a DX,KT,JH, or 2H coded engine (car? ) I have no idea, I am after the top and bottom radiator hoses and the one that goes from the flange to the oil cooler and flange to water pump - in fact a complete set of hoses would be great! Can someone help me to sort this out, or recommend a shop that can get these parts for me? I am in South East Queensland

The DX is a MK1 GTI engine but I don't think that's what you have. Should be on the Rego paperwork as part of the engine number. Or in the service book, or on the sticker in the spare wheel well.

Once you have the engine code it should be easy to do.

    JH engine code,

Just go online to GAP, Parts4VWs or any of the resellers and buy a whole hose set. Flush cooling system then install new hoses andG12 coolant. Simplest, easiest and keeps it reliable.
    Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...

If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

    Cheers,
    Grant...

Yep just buy a whole set from GAP as Grant says. It's cheaper than buying local and you'll get the right parts.

Oddly I sometimes get Mackay Australian made hoses from O/S for a 1/3 the price Repco will will sell them to me here and they arrive quicker too.
