Anyone got any leads on new Headlights?

I'm considering replacing the headlights in my MK I. All I'm after is good light output. Right now I'm slowly working my way through the electrics . At the moment both lenses are cloudy one is genuine one is autopal.

What's out there at the moment? Anything local?

    I'm NOT interested in
    AutoPal
    Densal
Smoked (Personal taste, you won't talk me into them!)
Crosshairs (Personal taste, you won't talk me into them!)

    I would like
CLEAR good quality headlights at a reasonable price.
    Bosch
    Narva
    Cibie

I'm looking about the place, there's a few clear crystal ones on e-bay that look alright.

Any suggestions anyone? Comments on quality etc?

    Cheers
    Pete

GSFcarparts.com do some cheap ones but the postage might be the killer from the UK.

Cheers I'll have a look. UK postage has to be the most expensive in the world!

but if the gear is cheap enough. I reckon they are about 20 quid each, like 50 bucks. I had some Hella ones which were good.

    Golf headlamps

I've had no difficulty getting headlamps for my golf from the likes of volkshome and volksbaru - $70 -$90 for Bosch (if I remember corrrectly)

The other thing I have done when the glass has been cloudy on the inside is to remove the bulb support (straighten out a couple of metal tags holding it in place) and get a rag in to clean the inside of the lens - using a blunt stick behind the cloth for extra effect.

    running brighter globes also helps.
