In my youth yes.
In half is too much
1 and a half coils looks very low, one coil is about right.
Makes the car handle like a go kart and limits rear passengers.

hehehehe,,,good one wabit!! ill go to lakemba or Timpe tyres tomoro and get some shots for you!! hahahaha
mate, why you need shots of how to do it?? just get the angle grinder out, vice the spring and grind away EASY! as loon said ,one coil which is one circle, get it???
tell us how you go! still laughn!! hahahaha![]()
I`m not encouraging anyone to cut springs, but you need to remove it from the strut and then remove one whole piece from the bottom, but so that it still sits in the cup at the top of the strut. Apparently you are meant to use a hacksaw, not a grinder to keep the heat out of the spring.

Read something about using the hacksaw too. Definitely not recommended, but if you MUST, cut only as much as the dead coils. This is not my experience, only from what I hear.
i have cut down several sets of springs , and in my experience i cant see anything wrong with it. ok its not ideal but for a cheap fix it definately works.
i use a 1mm cutting disc to minimise heat but again i dont think , unless you used an oxy torch that the heat from one cut would hamper the springs
