Nice Verk. Its plenty quick enough........
But yes, your idea will work and it should be quite a handfull to drive.
haha.
hey all, been a while since ive chucked anything about my car on here, but did an engine transplant recently.
went with a 2E from a 97 seat ibiza gti.
i was previously running a 1.8 out of a gti on twin carbies with cam and stuff, but it chewed through the fuel and wasnt all that quick.
this engine is a lil quicker, but uses less than half the amount of petrol.
another modification that ive done (or am still doing) is going for a semi-race look on the inside (as im planning on using this as a track car anyway someday) and stripped almost everything and am getting the small amounts of rust out of the interior, mainly surface stuff.
got a couple of race seats thatll go in soon, and new harnesses too.
as for the engine, well it definately needs some things done to it, and while i gather information for the idea ive got, ill be keepin things a lil hush hush.
anyway, thanks for reading, if anyone will lol,
an yeh heres a pic of the car for those who havent seen or cant remember it.
cheers, catch yas.

good to see she's still getting some love. I love your wheels too., they really work and give the car a nice aggressive race look.
btw, what are you doing with you'r old setup?
nice mate

Ohhhhhh forced induction![]()
the twins.. hmm, i dunno yet
pretty sure there was an air leak along the line, and one of the 40mm webers 'apparently' had slight twists in the throttle shafts.
so i dunno really, id probably like to sell the whole engine setup type thing just on the cheap (even tho i spent too flippin much on those carbies haha)
but yeh, undecided on that.
as for forced induction, i dunno about that, ive heard its tricky.....
but yeh, hopefully wont be much more than a month and ill unveil my (hopefully) masterpiece.

Nice mate, i just picked up a tidy mk1 myself with a kr and boy does it go hard! The motor just keeps on revving and in such a light chasis it flies. Ive still got a grin on my face lol. Keep us updated!!![]()
Very tidy looking engine bay there. Nice work. What did you keep from the donor motor? Does it use the Mk1 drive shafts? Would love to know a little more about your experience of swapping it over. Thanks mate.
