thanks man... but the holes arent too bad.. ive cut them all so i that i should just be able to weld some flat sheet in there.

just curious about which paint you guys have used on your restorations.

Im gonna keep it the same colour, cos i like it (and white is cheap)

Ive priced 2 pack and acrylic and they will end up being similar in price (acrylic is a bit cheaper).

This car is currently done in acrylic, and im thinking about using that again, mainly because i have never painted a whole car before, and acrylic is apparently much more forgiving. I know that acrylic is a lot more work than two pack, but im not pressed for time so that doesnt really matter.

    any advice is much appreciatied...

    cheers

i have had 2 cars pained now and both times used a 2k high build primer then 2k colour and 2k clear. if you are going white again i would recomend a 2k solid colour, then you can buff all the crap out that will be in there if you paint it at home!

painting takes 20 mins! the prep will be more like 20 hr

    noises

started the old girl on saturday.. drove it up my driveway and onto ramps to do the floor holes and the exhaust.. It has runners only at the moment... so it was amazingly loud (sorry neighbours)... i need to bleed the brakes or at least fix the handbrake, cos i almost rolled into my garage roller door ...

ive cut out the worst of the rust, just waiting to borrow a mig welder so i can fix it. I have bought replacement doors after finding that i could kick in the rust in the bottom of the drivers side door. They need some fixing up before they can go on. Ill probably need a new hatch too.

    paint will happen one day

4th year uni is annoyingly busy so ive had no chance to work on it, but holidays in 3 weeks will allow some time...
