That's right. There's a 12v solenoid right at the base of the horns, you can see it in the first photo. The solenoid just hooks in to the original horn circuit. The black tube coming out of the solenoid is the air line.

They also sell the solenoids on their own.

Kits pop up on e-bay all the time as well.

Which is the same as the one on my other golf.

You can also get a manual valve like the truckies use with a chain accross the roof of the cabin. Pirtek or Enzed would probably stock those otherwise a truck wrecker might be worth a visit.
