nah engine is working fine
i also had a custom headunit in this before my one with the same setup and wiring to the amp and it had no problem

it cuts out anytime i use it.... it shuts on and off like it cant hold power

run a bit of fused 12ga wire from the battery straight to the headunit and ground it straight to the chassis, that "should" fix it otherwise it could just be a faulty headunit.
Hmm I have the same problem in my vr6 its a Pioneer headunit and I'm getting the same scenario as what WABIT is getting I can only crank it to 10 and then the headunit lighting starts to fade in and out like the power is draining, really weird.
