Well spotted! I can thank Dimitri for contracting me with the mk1 fever. It was originally his idea to put bike throttles on a golf, i was just silly enough to go ahead and do it.. and yes, he recently parted out an 86 with a custom 4link rear end. on that tip, look out for our friends purple insanely slammed 86, its truly bananas..

I spent tonight fixing all the panel gaps and finally mounted the fusebox/relays/computer/passenger parcel tray. It is a huge achivement not to see any wires after so long, i even set the time I cross my fingers for rego tomorrow and then i will actually take some decent pictures!

Surely you will. I have only seen 3 rabbits rolling in the last year or so!

    Are you north or south?

    long overdue updates

so it has been sometime since an update so here is the latest. i have put about 6-7k on the clock since i last posted!

put in a new clutch, all the relevant seals

made the modified(for the drivers side booster) clutch pedal better.

relocated the wideband sensor further downstream so it gets all 4 cyls and doesnt over heat as overheating was a problem when it was in the bay getting 1+4 cyls.

getting the lowlow from this forum i got myself a 83 sigma front swaybar, had to mod some poly mounts to work.

welded up some mounts, not as nice as what foc64 made up but it was easily done with some scraps from the local metal workshop bin.

the difference this mod has made is immesurable at this point but im sure its going to be huge. i put in new tie rods so i need to get an alligment but even with my eye align job it is spades better. coming in at a grand total of $38 for the bar, bolts and bushings it should be done again.

on a another tip, i replaced the shaft seal on the 16v distributor(see jonnyphenomen howto on vortex). the seal was cheap and i have high hopes it works out.

it goes around corners like glue and im sure it will be even better after an alignment!

thanks man. yeah i thought about that but it would have required heaps more work and thought in the routing/sealing depts, kinda had bigger fish to fry at the time! doing it in that snakeskin braid was tricky enough for me
