brian at Gti imports has some plates thet you use on your original cam gear where you mount it onto the front of your existing gear and then you machine away the webs in between. It works just as well as a fully fabricated adjustable gear. Lookes the same and even has the increments notched into it aswell. Its quite cheap too.

"Autotech's newest adjustable cam gear is CNC-crafted entirely from both 6061 & 7075-T6 aluminum. The main portion including the teeth is hard-anodized for durability. The inner hub is anodized red. All factory timing marks are on the gear, to ensure simple, accurate installation. All marks are laser engraved. The gear is held firmly in your desired setting with ARP® stainless flange-head screws.

The gear is marked for 10 degrees advance or retard of the camshaft timing. You can correctly "zero-in" (degree) your camshaft to the recommended setting with ease. In general, advancing the cam timing increases low-end torque and improves throttle response. Retarding the camshaft timing will generally shift the powerband upward, increasing top-end power. This is also good when installing a resurfaced head, because the gear can be used to correct for timing loss (retardation) caused by the cam being closer to the crankshaft. This gear will allow you to adjust for the peak performance and power range desired. Weighs a miniscule 11 ounces. Fits 1.6L - 2.0L 8V gas engines in Mk1"

Got one of these for sale with or without Autotech 270 cam.

    PM me if interested
