accelerator cable

so i still need to connect the accelerator cable to the carburetor however im stumped on what goes on the end of the cable to stop it slipping through the ferrel. heres a picture to help aswell



the accelerator cable is the red one, just thought i'd point that out

Looks like the cable goes through the hole on the throttle arm on the carby - just down and to the left of the center of your picture. Pinch a cable bolt off your bicycle's brakes or gears to go on the end of the cable after you've threaded it through the hole to stop it being pulled out of the hole.

did everythign you said and it works perfect! new problem, if i accelerate it works but when i lay off the accelerator no fuel goes to the carby, any help is appreciated.

Is it idling ok?

The carby has a system where it pumps extra fuel into the engine when you accelerate. It sounds like this bit is working fine but the normal fuel flow into the engine isn't. It could be caused by quite a few things but have a look at the main jets to see if they are clogged.

Do you have a mechanical fuel pump or electric?

You should do a Google search on your carby to see how it works and show how it should be assembled. It could have been rebuilt with almost anything done wrong which will affect the way it works.

theres no idling whatsoever, if theres no throttle it just dies. and ill have a look tommorow. no harm done in trying haaha

Sounds like your idle speed needs to be adjusted. When you pull on the accelerator cable it moves a plate on the side of the carby. Somewhere there is a screw that adjusts the plate so it holds the throttle open and therefore increases or decreases the idle speed. You need to turn the screw to speed it up.

I'd look first at the idle cut-off solenoid – make sure that the wire is connected to it
