Awesome George can't wait.
Well I took it for its first drive before! Went all over the city and didn't buzz. Just as we got in started buzzing, I just kept driving and drove all the way home fine! It never did it before, I swapped my cluster to the newer one, perhaps something is touching there? Or maybe the oil pump, I'll swing past on your next day off Peter!
But the golf runs, and is a blast to drive! Will have plenty of pics up soon!

Sounds like it's a hiccup somewhere, low oil pressure usually doesn't come and go unless you're hammering it through corners.
You need to find this number plate - 6ULDV8. Say it slow and pronounce each letter.
Cheers

Hey George
Another feature Australian delivered Cabby's didn't come with, was a low oil pressure buzzer! ($33,000 didn't buy much in the nineties...)
You may have this sticking out of the right side of the cylinder head (above clutch)
They can start leaking and indicate low pressure. Do you have a leak around this area?
The second sensor is on top of the oil filter housing, I think it's this that activates the buzzer
The buzzer is known to fail sometimes and bumping the unit or wires can reactive it.
Or it maybe telling you the truth! Check the oil pressure.
Michael
Thanks for thst tip mate! Yes it does come with one of those, however it only has one terminal not two!
How is the pressure checked (maybe a silly question)? When I turn the car off, it stops, start it up again and it's fine. As soon as the revs go over 2.5ish it starts buzzing. If I were to drive for 20 minutes under 2.5rpm it wont start buzzing. Maybe it is telling the truth ..
Anyway, coilovers came in yesterday! I got some el cheapo JOM to suffice for maximum lows. I finish work today around 2pm and the guard rolling and lowness will begin!

Hi
When I read the below sentence it jogged my memory. So referring to my VW service manual - The buzzer is working correctly...
But it still maybe a faulty sensor/switch.
Is the oil light coming on when the ignition is turned on? Does the oil light glow when the buzzer sounds?
The oil pressure sensor/switch that is located on the oil filter housing, activates when oil pressure is lower than 1.8 bar @ around
2000 RPMs. This sets the buzzer off.
The sensor on the cylinder head activates when pressure is less than 0.3 bar - engine at idle.
To test pressure, unscrew one of the sensors and screw in a Oil Pressure test gauge. Remember the aluminum head is soft - use
correct fittings. (sorry I don't have a gauge)
Maybe don't start the car until you get this tested.

I had a friend tell me he had the exact same issue with his vr6, to which he said it was a faulty sensor he replaced.
Since I don't want any bumpers, I had to figure out what to do with the indicators, so I went to super cheap auto and bought some led lamps for $9 each as well as some brackets from Bunnings. Was straight forward as you can see from the pics.
It came up looking real god actually, shame I don't have any pics. Sorry for the dark photos too haha
Also got some help with the rear coilovers yesterday. I rolled the life out of the guards, and need to do some more. But coilovers in the rear are in. Also did some small sound system wiring etc. slowly coming together

It's the middle of July and your mate is wearing thongs, arse crack covered by sky blue budgie smuglers and there's bits of car on your front verandah.
You're not married are you?
Hahahaha not married yet Paul - the poor girl! She is marrying myself and VW when the time comes...
