Hey guys I'm new to all this forum stuff but I love watching other ppls cars come together during a build so I thought I would track my progress of the build on here....I recently purchased a 81 rabbit cabriolet fuel injected mk1 all original, imported from the states in 2001 for a movie shoot and then just sat around for years doing nothing. The rabbit is running but needs some TLC, brakes, service etc. the only rust I have spotted so far after pulling it all apart is under the windshield just 2 little bubbles which have already been takin care of...
Plans are gun metal grey respray nice set of rims I'm keeping the interior pretty standard as it is in amazing condition just need to steam clean it all and will come up a treat... 2L turbo is on the cards aswell...will post some photos when I figure out how lol
started pulling it apart for the respray and ive decided to go the standard colour as I wanna keep it as original as possible ..ive ordered the original GTI seat fabric from the uk cause it looks neat in the original pattern
I think a mk1 in United Grey from the mk5s would be well nice! Have seen one online before but it had too much chrome from memory.
what movie was it in??
Yeah me 2 I think that colour is awsome but if I did a colour change I would want to do it properly and rip all the gut out oft the shell and paint everything ive done that once before and I just dont have the patience to do it again...so ill just keep the original colour as the inside of the car is in pretty good condition in regards to the colour and it was in a movie called Last dance im pretty sure it was an Australian terrorist movie ive downloaded it but am yet to watch it...
Does anyone have a spare left hand fender I could buy as my one has some damage and I wanna try and stay away from bog on this car....sydney area would be good
Did some more stripping on the mk1 on the weekend getting ready sandblasting...still no rust pretty happy with that
Sorry bout the bad photos I will take some better ones outside in the next few days
Did u fond out what movie it was used on?
