there is something about driving around with a harness, two seats and a empty rear cabin...the car pulls so much harder with the extra weight...i think when i get a full time job (end of the year) i will strip the interior, get two sparco race seats, two momo harnesses, a cams approved 1/2 cage, massive front brake upgrade, semi-slicks all roung and put in the worked 2L i have lying about and have a dope weekender/track car! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Post up your lap times. If possible link a few together and get the splits. I am very interested to see what she does around there. You'll have a great time (if it is not wet).
yeah mick, i'm spewing, i'm pretty happy with the way the car is going and everything is booked and ready to go and now this weather has set in! i think i'll go regardless, but if it's raining i will spinning 2nds/3rds the whole way round...
but either way i'll post up some time and footage after the weekend

had a great day yesterday at marulan. the track i think is much more technical than wakefield and saw a lot of people including myself come unstuck, especially in the morning runs when it was wet! the car went fantastic, flat chat all day without any issues...i did get chopped by skylines and evo's all day but that's to be expected ahah posted up a couple of pics, so enjoy! probably my favourite from the day are the ones of the white japanese fleet chasing down the only euro! ahah
i managed to lap on average a 51 second lap throughout the day but definately feel as though with some semi-slicks this could be improved significantly.

That is pretty cool.
How did you find the rear when braking into the bottom hairpin? I had massive passenger rear locking as the weight shifted and the wheel lifted off the ground...
The track is actually well suited to the MK1 to be honest. I found that not having a rear sway bar on but not a front sway bar fitted was a real pain, as with all of the fast direction changes it was difficult to get the car to release from the previous corner. Also short shifting across the top of the hill before the crest we found sets the balance better.
The Green 16V with full interior on 15" Kumho KU31's we did just on 100 laps (with no mechanical issues unlike the Japs) and consistantly hit low 49's (49.2/3/4) so agree there is more in it for you with a dry track and some better rubber.
Maybe once I have the weiß one built we can go down for a boogie!
Really nice to see it on the track!
