    courtesy of Pete Jones. bought this off him recently, couldn't be happier with it for the price, so thanks Pete.

    I wiill put it in as soon as I pass rego. getting all "track spec" has got me pretty excited for next weekend, it will be my debut track day lol

    been a full on week as amongst other things I have registered and payed for both supersprint and show and shine, organised my club vw membership and cams license.

    now all i need is some number plates lol.

    (ps. the white dot is from the camera)...

    i take it the recaros' are your daily comfort chairs? will this be the only seat in the car come track day?

    yeah the recaro's are my daily seats, just wanted something a little more secure for track purposes. ideally i would prefer it black obviously but it was too good an offer to pass up and pete had already done an ace job setting it up on MK1 runners, saved me a lot of hassle!

    undecided yet, I will definately remove the rear seat but i may still keep the passenger side in...

    Id keep passanger observation lap etc on the day!

    Gday mate

    Just wondering how old the harness is?
    Just check that it complies B4 you get to the track
    It would be a bummer to get there & no tbe able to run

    complies to what reg?...not sure how old it is, but its good condition (no frays or stress)

    i saw people running with standard seat belts last nationals?...

    I don't think that this event requires a harness that is 'current', as it is only a Level 2 Speed.

    That style of harness doesn't have an expiry date. Scrutineers will check condition and ADR compliance on that one.

    Generally speaking anything with the passenger car type of buckle doesn't expire.

    When the seat goes in make sure it doesn't rattle. Even with brand new nylon guides on the back feet there can be some slop.

    In my MK1 I adjust the seat position wise and then use strips of aluminium the width of the rail to shim the nylon guides and get everything nice and tight.

    The shims just slide in under the runners and I bend them up on either side to keep them in place.

    You can shim out any slop in the front mount too by sliding a piece of aluminium in on top of the rail. Securing that is a little harder, I bent a tab down off it and used the M6 bolt at the front to keep it there.

    It's fair to say I somewhat over-engineered it. It's a bit heavier than it needs to be although the whole seat and base still only weighs 12kg.

    I didn't have a MIG welder back then, all those welds were done the old fashioned way with oxy-acetylene.
