got the car running properly today, made up all the heater hoses and got some coolant in...it all works well only this is the heater tap is a gone so i was leaking need to find another
took a while to get the 5-speed done properly but its all sweet now and selecting gears very easily which is good..
still have to get the timing done better but have to wait till i get a better dizzy which should be soon..other than that mechanically its looking good...
also made a start assembling the doors and hoping to start looking at the interior now...
got to get a vid up soon of it firing up

Good **** dude! Make a youtube account, photobucket generally bites for videos.
Good to see it getting there. Is the bodywork under control?
Jealous of your nice clean engine/bay!
yeah i might do that...
the body is very straight panel wise but the paint is not immac, just want it to be 100% mechanically for now and then worry bout a closed door or something down the track but I have treated and cut out/welded all the rust earlier...but i dont think once its on the road it will be enough of an issue to make me do it lol probs be more concerned with ripping 2nds...(on a close road of course)....
started organising the doors too, so hopefully after the engine is completely finished, the interior can get some attention...

sounds pretty good for ordinary timing.. really dig the milk crate drivers seat.. screw it down and run with it.. make some twine seatbelts lol

Your PM box is full mate.
so decided to try and make up a door this arvo, having never attempted this before...
surprisingly i got very far with the drivers door, i'm assuming MK1 doors would have to be one of the simplest setups in the world.
yesterday i gave the door seals a light sand and a por15 once over and then today I have practically completed 75% of the driver door lol not bad for a first effort...
the water proofing plastic from the donar car is shot...does anybody have any suggestion for making up a new one...i was thinking of getting some plastic sheeting from bunnings and using the door card as a template???...should be fairly simple..
can really begin to to see the end of the build when the doors start coming together...other than tidying up a few bits and pieces in the engine bay and a few bits on the body the interior shouldnt take too long, however i still need headlining and carpet...

MK1 doors would definitely have to be the easiest to work on, in my experience anyway!
You do anything with the regulator chain/cord things? Like soak them in something to lube em up?
