Take the high tension lead out of the dizzy and get a mate to hold the end in one hand and a beer in the other. Crank over the engine.
If your mate never speaks to you again the spark is good enough. If he can still drink the beer you need a new coil.

Yeah replace it all at one go, makes it so much easier. As Mik said there is 35 years of bad wiring in these cars
I think the main wiring to worry about is the 12v feed to the coil, i made my own and crimped it from the stock location in fusebox. Normally its a resisted wire. I just use a 12v coil that is internal resisted. works a treat.
And the headlights. get some new bigger wires and some relays . Oh and the wire from coil to dissy too me hours to figure out why it would start.
