Thanks Steve! Great info on the brake upgrades.
Will have to look into these options a little further.
Good luck with the rest of your build. Should be a neat little beast!
After dealing with the bodgy paint job previously done by my uncle I had sent it out again to get another makeover by my dads mate which really wanted to help me out! He saw the finalized product previously and decided to undertake this project in his shop!
It came back this afternoon I was astonished the way it came out! Cant complain when it's done for the cost of $0! Including a buff! (Hahahaha well ill have to get him a bottle of blue label)
Here's some pictures!

production in the guts now begin!
Nice! good to see you're getting stuck in!
yeah it needed another life Robbie, slow progress towards my goal!
today was the day for this old rabbit and its new transplant! had a productive, successful day working on this mk1, apart from chipping and scratching paint off in the engine bay i also resprayed the brake booster to give it that newer look and also dropped the 1.8l with the 5 speed box into the engine bay.... only one concern, the rear engine mount i had on was ruined and had a slice through the center of the rubber molding. on a hunt for one rear engine mount thats attached on the gearbox.
here are some pictures of what i got up to

Enjoyed this thread, keep up the good work.
Wondering about those GTI discs you put on the car - they looked a bit thin.
Paul
Looking good mate.
Agreed for a small price you can pick up GTI rotors from RDA. (Can be bought at bursons for less than $50 each.)
