Depends what gearbox the 2e was previously bolted to.
There's 2 different input shaft diameters. The hole in the driven plate has to match the input shaft.
Pressure plate and flywheel should work OK, Just need to check that input shaft diameter.
I've got a 2e and I'm gunna bolt it up to the mk1 4 speed do I run the 2e clutch and pressure plate or mk1 or a combo of the two

So the clutch on the mk1 has a smaller input shaft size, so do I have to change the flywheel and pressure plate to match the clutch or can I use the mk3
best thing to do would be to put the mk3 210mm pressure plate and flywheel in, but buy a new clutch friction disk in 210mm for the smaller input shaft diameter (e.g suit ADZ or AAZ engine).
Then the 4 speed will bolt up but you wont have a slipping clutch because of all your 2L torque

I put the mk1 gear in it, but you've said that I'm thinking I should pull it back apart, is that other clutch your talkin about like a h/duty mk1 clutch or something completely different
Pull it back apart and use a clutch disc with the smaller spline, ADZ AAZ engines use the small spline but are a standard clutch disc.Nothing special.
Yeah - its just a 210mm clutch for small input shaft mk3 golf thats all.
aaz and adz are the engine codes I could think of, there would be others too.
