Thanks guys, the colour is actually a toyota white the same colour as early landcruisers were painted. wanted something a bit more creamy than the original colour but not too much that it looked beige. It's settled down to a really nice off white now and looks great in the sun.
Michael the plans for the engine will just be a 1.8 and a five speed, found another dellorto so will hopefully find a manifold to run both of those on the 1.8 in the future

thanks dude I think I have a few new window scrapers here somewhere, cheers for the doorcards too they make the interior look a lot more pretty haha

found some old stock Armor plates on vwvortex, I don't know if they'd really put a carjacker off that much but I really like them on mk1's



(still searching for a Drivers door trim if anyone has one sitting about they'd like to sell)

will be splitting my bbs this weekend and making a start on getting those together

man this is super cool dan, why didn't you give me a call when you were putting it together man, i'd have helped you and got it back together in a day. Let me know what your up too mate and we'll catch up. Wouldn't mind having a closer look at this and going for a cruise (I need an excuse to get the golf out of the shed heh heh heh) We should go for a cruise up too my farm mate, i reckon i may have that front door outer trim your looking for. cheers man will definitely be keen on a cruise once I'm certain the engine will make it haha! have been using it as a daily for the last week or so and it's been running pretty well so it should be all good, there's a few other cool bits a new golfball gearknob and lower lip spoiler are on their way over and there's a few different things going on with the wheels, think I missed out on the H&R coilovers I had my eye on so will have to find another set of those now
