Yeah I've found a bit of motivation.

Booked for a windscreen at 8am friday. I sort of need to drive the car there, 10 minute drive with no windscreen... Might change that to an outcall.

Four day weekend will be pretty helpful. I need to get the ****ing windscreen washer pump sorted. I bought a bit of a generic one but it has two inlets and one outlet... Stuffed if I know. Looks like it's supposed to actually sit in the water to pump it.

All goes to plan, I'll have it rego-ed on friday. It won't go to plan though.

Hearing back from you people really gets me motivated. Thanks guys (and girls).

I'm not sure how people can put bumper end caps on upside down, they snap into position perfectly one way, and the other way bend n sht?

    RWC went good.

Steering rack boots, two tires (apparently cracks aren't allowed, no matter how small) and the brake light on the dash (pads undersize...?)

Going to chuck on some new rack boots now, tires early tomorrow morning, and um... replace the brake pads as well.

ahahah dude i did mine wednesday.. boiling water to soften it up a bit and try drop the rack.. id do that next time as its really freakin tight against the exhaust shroud (on the drivers side anyway)

have the new boot soaking in a bowl of hot water. take the wheel off on the side your changing, undo the locking bolt holding the steering rod in place on the knuckle, wind out the the steering rod counting half turns (mine was 27), lube up the steering rod and slide the old boot off (the large end should just pop off, the smaller end that holds the boot in place will be a tight fit but slides off), now the hard part.. pop the centre out of the small end of the old boot and press it in the new boot, slide back up the steering rod into position, hopefully youve done this pretty quickly os the boot is still relatively soft, not 'pop' the large end on the lip that holds it in place.. i found this easier said than done, it was a real cock about, if you can drop the steering rack you should be able to get more leverage.

hopefully it goes on without a hitch and reattach the boot clip and screw the steering rod back in the same amount of half turns, locking nut tight, wheel on and bam hit the other side hopefully still with skin on your knuckles.. wheather this is the right way or easiest way i dont know but its how i changed mine!!

Passenger side boot has got me stumped.

Do I actually need a 30+mm spanner or what?!
How to tyre shops align the steering on that side if the boots there?
