you need one of these mounts to run the mk2 gear

I'm in the process of fitting a mk2 gti engine into the golf, just curious as to how people go about fitting the mk2 alternator.
The 1.6 brackets won't fit the later alternator as the mounting holes are in different positions, however the mk2 gti alternator mount protrudes over the side of the block towards the pulleys, which is in the way of the mk1 engine mount. do most people just heat the mount and put a bend in it and stay with the mk2 gear or stick with the mk1 brackets and make up a few extras?

ahh so they exist!
looks like the mk1 mount should be able to do the same job.
after playing around with a few different pulleys the crank and waterpump are inline, and the alternator would be also be if I put a slightly wider/deeper pulley on it.
is there a limit as to how far you can extend that pulley before it starts shafting the alternator bearings? it's already fairly wide with the stock one
have some suitable front mount brackets in the shed dan ( if you have yet to fix it ) . Back home on friday if ya wanna give me a ring then mate. Can use the Mk 1 pulleys but you may need to space the alternator one ( what we did with Antons engine btw )
Lots of MK 1 Scirocco's...
If it aint a MK 1 then it must be a donor car ??

is there much of an advantage using the 90amp alternator? the car won't be having much of a stereo just the single speaker radio. I'm guessing the mk1 wiring is fine to handle the 90amp instead of the 35?
The 90amp is great, keeps the battery well charged and is a better design than the earlier alternators in terms of bearings etc.
I'd recommend it.
