Yes updated pics would be much appreciated
    Looks great from that one...

BTW, how many black GTIs are there out there anyway?
I've counted at least 4 now I think - mine, yours, Simon's in Melbourne, and (I think) Golfwise?

Mind you, I am partial to silver - my old '79 GLS was silver...

Well, it's been a wait, but Heasman's finally got the GTI's suspension sorted out.

Turned out that the struts I gave them were pretty well stuffed, so the rears got bined completely, and replaced with brand new adjustable Bilsteins.
The fronts got stripped completely, and most of the guts replaced with new Bilstein bits (shafts, seals, bumpstops...).

The car's been set up for dirt events, so it's firm but not hard - 300lb front, 170lb rear springs. Haven't had a chance to really test it out yet.

I'll upload pics when I get a chance.

    Time to play, Loon

It's been a little while since I posted anything to this thread (well not a lot happens really).

I finally got around to ripping some wheels off, and taking pics of the suspension.

The front struts were re-built with new Bilstein internals (all new bits).
If you have a look, you can see the gap between the top of the spring, and the upper spring seat. Hmmm. I guess that means that shaft should have been shortened...
BTW, the disks are 270mm TSR (Black Diamond) upgrades (before they went bust).

The rear struts are all new. Disk brakes soon

Also got around to fitting the 100mm spoiler yesterday.

Adds a nice aggro touch to the front end
I'll have to watch those speed humps now though (not too much with 300lb springs though ). Hope that I don't rip the thing off on the first 'khana I do too...

If you like the spoiler, feel free to pay a visit to Matt's Emporium - I'm sure he'd order you a set (maybe the next batch won't go AWOL for so long...)

im suprised they didn't implement a captive spring system into the front struts..........but then again it's not like your going to be airborn every day : )
