Problem of audio upgrade

Hi there,

i am currently having a vw trendline(cant wait that long for a tsi) and which come with RCD310. I found RCD510 which from china is around $100, but i have google for the information about install..but still have some confuse?

-What is CANBUS for?
-Is that the trendline cant install the MDI as well?
-Other than the RCD510, what do i still need to buy for the installation?
-Need any modify for the steeling wheel control? (volume,next song etc.)

CANBUS controls almost all the electricals and electronics in recent VWs
I don't see why the Trendline can't have the MDI installed unless there is a space issue for the connector unit thingy.
The RCD-510 is all you need (apart from a butterknife/spatula to pop off the surrounding trim and a T20 torx bit to undo and redo the screws holding the unit in)
If your Polo can control the RCD-310 through the steering wheel, then it will also word work with the RCD-510

Sure for share.

The RCD510 i found is from china(chinese website)
the unit is brand new($75) with the shipment to aus is $25..so total is 100..
and they have hundred of 510 in stocks..

just let me know if anyone is interested..i can help with the chinese website..
