    Would you buy this car?

    Hi all,

I'm in the market for a small euro hatchback. Initially the 6R was out of my budget, but this little gem came up. The price is unusually low, but the car is still under manufacturers warranty so I'm still undecided.

What do you guys make of it? I'll obviously do some checks to make sure it isn't written off or anything, I'll get a pre purchase inspection done by a specialist once I take a look at it.

But can you see any signs of worry? (apart from the missing vw badge on the front)

I'd be looking to see if there was any accident history with the car. Obviously being still under warranty covers you for any non-accident issues. Sometimes people just need to sell and other times it can be too good to be true.

Also consider the Skoda Fabia if you're looking at the Polo as it's mechanically the same car: https://www.carsales.com.au/private/...-4396354/?Cr=2

That price is about all he would get trade in and matches red book prices. He may have tried a trade and got knocked back so he's trying to sell on those numbers to move it on.
Not sure what's going on with the front badge. It's missing but is something else there in its place. Have you checked it out yet. May be a smoker and the interiors not the best. May need new tyres. Service history not good. May not look to crash hot up close paint wise. Could be a number of things to make the price what it is. I'd get a 9N gti for that money before I got a 77tsi.

Some of the other advertised prices are a little over inflated as well. Asking 12k for a 2011 with 100k and all it has extra is a $1500 sports pack. Come on.

At a glance, the panel gap between the driver's door and right front guard is a bit tight.

Also, the rocker panel is crushed, below the driver's door.

It's probably nothing major, but worth getting the car inspected by a third party.

Yeah I felt at ease because it's under warranty, but there was a few signs that umai has mentioned, like the crushed side skirt area, looks like someone didn't jack the car up properly. And the front door to quarter panel is uneven compared to the rear doors.

    I'm avoiding regardless, I've found a 9N TDI that I'm after
