Does this mean you have to pay for rego twice, or is the NT 1mth rego free/reduced price?

Up until recently I had never considered buying a VW. I've owned 3 Subaru's, 1 Toyota, and 2 Hyundais over the years. If it wasn't for the VW driver training day, I wouldn't have even walked into a VW showroom.

I visited 3 VW dealers over the last few weeks, and to be perfectly honest I though the customer service was at a very high standard compared to the Subaru and Toyota dealers.

I don't doubt that what happened in this car was an error on the dealer's behalf, and given that there was a contract in effect, Mike was in a good position to get compensated.

I'm accustomed to getting at around $2000 off the price of a car, as dealers seem to build that discount into the price so that they can offer $2000 guaranteed trade ins etc. It was a little shocking to see VW dealers no offering discounts. Not sure whether it was really that supply was so much lower than demand or whether the dealer knew I was getting a VW fleet discount. I believe it was the first instance given the wait times for Tiguans.

I guess when demand is higher than supply, sales people get lazy, especially if the dealer has this is the only car in Australia that you want. I've placed my order for a Tiguan for delivery in December and I can wait til then because that's when my current lease expires, but I can certainly understand the enthusasim for getting the car you want straight away.

Well basically i pay like $16.60 for the dealer to register it so they can transport it, then pay the 600 odd dollars for my Vic Rego, a small price to pay to get a polo Gti any time soon i reckon.

Htran, it's more the after contract service than anything and the lies that dealership sales staff tell that is the issue and seeing as just in the polo section of this small group of vw owners has seen so many instances, I'd say it's a fairly widespread issue in the whole metro network.
