what offset?
Alright, just picked up the wheels from the powdercoaters, had them done in steel pearl and it aint too bad, and this is the end product!
Cant wait to get them on, will leave the final judgement when they are fitted, picked up some Bridgestone RE070 225/45/17's as well, what do you think? I so hope they work with the car

what offset?
MY18 Golf 7.5R - Ecotune Stage 1
Mazda RX2 - 13B Bridgeport GTX4202R
thanks, they are 17x7 +45
i think i have asked before but do you think 225/45/17 will not scrub? now that you are running your profiles?
If you are going to rub, will likely be on the struts.
Nothing a few spacers can't fix.
true, now what do i do about wheel nuts??
what size are they and anyone got a link to where i can get some black ones that may suit?
Why not stick with the 215/40/17s that came with the car?
Shouldn't be any issues given only 1mm difference in offset and your rolling diameter won't change.
Um... if the car came with 215/40/17's, why would you be putting 225/45/17's?
Those tyres are over 3% out of spec to the original rolling circumference. In fact, they're 5.054% out! This means the speedo will be running 5.054% too slow (thankfully the VW's are usually 7% too fast anyway).
But either way, you've gone the wrong way. You should have 225/40/17's which would then only be 1.308% too slow.
Even a 225/35/17 which would be closer to spec, at 2.457% too fast.
However.. a 225/40/17 is not recommended for a 7" width wheel. The profile is too small to squish the tyre onto a 7" wide rim. You'd need a 7.5" wide rim. Therefore if you MUST run 225 width tyres rather than the original 215, then you're pretty much stuck with the incorrect sized tyres....
^ yeah I may even just run them on track days and motorkhanas once a month so won't be the daily driven wheel and tyre setup.
Well scrap my wheel idea, these wheels do not fit, the center bore is too small to mount to the vw hub. These wheels are pcd 5x100 off a Subaru, just thought they would for but obviously not.thus trying to sell them back into the subby crowd. Oh well back to square one
