I don't think 8.5 inch wide wheels are legal on the GTI. Check with your states regs

I ordered 17x8 Oz Superturismo GT's.
I think they will look good especially with the car lowered 25mm at the front and 40mm at the back.
I used the offset calculator and it told me it will push the rim out by 41mm over
standard. seeing I don't have the car yet I'm not sure how much space is between the
Wheel and fender on the gti!
I have a set of bbs lm's of my brothers Audi lined up and I love those wheels lol
Through Jax. It was the easiest way for me.
Anyone had their standard 17 inch denvers (GTI) repainted at all? Currently considering options for my candy white gti...
hey mate, the 8.5's might indeed be illegal, but at any rate i think that the 25 offset will be the killer. however much wider the wheels are, you have to then add around 20mm to the width of that, and that'll tell you how much 'poke' you'll be getting. my guess is too much - with 8.5inch wide wheels with the right offset, i reckon you'd probably be sticking out of the guards a bit, but with a 25 offset (on a car whose stock wheels are like +45), i think it will give you dramas.
someone did theirs in black and a forum member posted a pic, it wasnt very flattering. on candy white i reckon it'd look better in anthracite.
found a candy GTI on 'my' forum with silk black denvers:

and shopped with my own anthracite denver replica's:

I know not to quit my job just yet for this, but it gets the idea across ;)
