    Wheel width confusion

    Evening all,

I have tried to use the search function to find answers but none so far so sorry if this has already been asked!

I have a 6r Polo GTI and looking at some Enkei RPF1's in the size of 17 x 8. My question is can you go for a width of "8" on the GTI polo or will you have clearance issues? The person I spoke too over the phone at the wheel distributor said you can go 8 on a golf however was unsure about clearance on a Polo.

    Cheers, Sean

It's not just a width issue - you need to be aware of the offset (ET)

Measure the distance between your current rim and the shock - and find the current offset
Then use a wheel (offset) calculator to work out what will and won't fit

Put 17x8 et.35 Enkei RPF1's on my Fabia recently. Should fit ok with the 215/40r17 tyres. But do as Martin said first before buying.
