    Wheel advice strikes back!

So I have an option how ever i'm afraid :/

I have decided not to drop the car any lower due to advice from a VW technician (highschool mate so no snitching!) about possible warranty voiding if any problems occur (not related to the spring or coilover) with the dampers, wheels, sensors etc VW are notorious to argue and make a decision to void warranty based on having an unapproved ride setup or non VW approved custom Springs/coilovers/suspension setup.

So looking at 18x8 Talladegas YES I'M GETTING ANOTHER SET...but from an Aussie importer (tested the wheel weight without air came in at 12kgs each) TUV approved, CCA Approved and CA approved (don't know what that means).

    Should the car be alright/balanced?

Will there be any tyre rubbing?

if the ET value is right there wont be any rubbing, but personally it looks like a monster truck without lowering on 18"

its a big risk if i use springs etc due to risking of voiding my warranty.

it will only void the warranty on the components directly attached to the suspension system... e.g; they cant deny a warranty claim on your engine or air con system because of your lower suspension... but if you shockies fail due to the increased work they'll be performing then they're well within their right to deny the claim...

pretty much, if you want a 'care free' warranty don't mod the car... but that's no fun, is it? haha

i'm doing mine regardless of what VW say...

where are you getting the talladegas from? i'd be keen for a set

so 18x8 ET 45 is safe bet? what size tyre does that take?, i have also asked him to enquire if they're manufacturing in 17x7.5 as my rubber is 98% tread...

dont know for sure if the ET45 will fit? One of the guys over here drives 18" 8J ET30 on coilies over here and its looking pretty close, maybe ET45 will rub on the inside?

could be wrong though, in that case I'm happy to be proven otherwise

    edit: pic added

Now imagine the rear sitting 7 cm higher on stock springs

Is the 8 inch width legal? That would be my only concern. Look at tyre placard for widest rim and add 1 inch

Have no clue polo, no news as its the weekend.

I'm getting itchy as soon as there is a confirmation about a 17x7.5 in Black finish i will post it otherwise i will go ahead with getting quotes on spraying it black + fitment and VW centre caps and order to silver ones (those who are interested i will pm you with the companies details).

Any recommendations for companies in Sydney that do paint work for wheels a part from Tempe?

    Update:

The seller has informed me that a manufacturing time slot will be made (he will email later) He will be making the wheels as follows:

5x 100 PCD 18x8 +35 Talladega (Black) replicas of course.

Anyone interested (serious buyers) please pm me and i will forward you his ebay account the reason i didn't post it earlier is have been trying since December after i received a full refund when i received replicas from the UK with a crack in the inner wall i wanted to be sure about this Australian Distributor.

    Regards

P.S His courier rates are dirt cheap considering the weight of each wheel

So now tyres...I know the size to get would be 225/35r18?

But now which brand, naturally looking for a good brand...no el cheapos but not ridiculously expensive! lol
