On saturday I took ownership of a new MY13 polo GTI, it has the RCD510 as standard and that BT module thing.
The dealer tried to connect my phone to the module at the dealership but failed, however my iphone connects to the car just fine and it allows me to use the steering wheel buttons for the bluetooth as well as the RCD510. The BT module still say's "not connected".
So, my question is do I need the BT module to be connected? Are there more bluetooth functions that i'm missing out on that I can only get when the BT module is connected? The dealer told me to bring it in to get it working, but if it works without it I don't see the point.
Thanks
Hope I'm on the right track with your query......
when picking up our Polo, the service guy could only connect my iPhone to the MFD.
called into another dealership and after trying a few things it was established that the iPhone could either be paired with the MFD or the annoying touch screen, but not both at the same time.
My other half drives this car, so I haven't played with the BT but unless it's re coded via VCDS cables, it does have to be turned on, ours says the same on the touch screen......BT won't work without the touch screen turned on
My suggestion would be to get out the manual and have a read of that
Congrats on your new ride, hope you enjoy it......assume you've got the Detroits on yours? (green with envy) haha
