I know discussion about the iPhone cradle is back in this thread a bit but those looking for the 'official' VW (Europe) iPhone 4/4S adapter, rather than the Bury 9 unit, can find it here:

For those with an iPhone 5, there doesn't seem to be any official word from Bury regarding aftermarket docks as yet

A place called Smartphonestore have a mock-up of what they will be selling "soon" - if this is what the dock looks like, it's sweet, not as clunky as the one for the iphone4 I have, but i suspect this is their Charging Cradle, and not the one for System 9

Not sure what you mean by orginal. Originally it came with the bluetooth touch adaptor. But as mentioned in this thread, there's also a VW part, linked in the post from tricka.
Both of these docks/cradles are Bury parts, a the mount on the dash is a Bury System 9 cradle. The difference is, the VW part has two buttons, and the Bury dock doesn't.

All of these parts are user interchangeable. The touch adaptor lifts straight off the base-plate. The docks should both have a release clip, but also just lift straight up off the plate.

i work in real estate and am ordering the new my13 gti where this comes standard - did you actually use it and was it any good? as i work in real estate i am always on my phone, so i thought this might actually come in handy...
does the iphone actually pair easily with it?

i can't get my iP5 to pair with it? mentions typing in the code 0000 but never comes up on the iphone? pairs with the head unit however no functions work on the touchscreen unit...

If you want a pic with the cradle in, there's one on page 15 of this thread. Not sure about Veeduby, but mine works well, and the phone paired well with the VCDS coding. The dock works a treat, and improves reception with the car's antenna.

The only trick was I needed to have something already paired with the unit (i.e. the touch adaptor) before I could access the bluetooth menu to access the pairing option. Once I did this, I was able to pair my iphone4, and later my iphone 5 - which might answer alexz's question
