Yeah it'd sit well buying now and getting the new Polo GTI Sometime in 2016. Problem is I think a Clio RS would fetch a lot more resale wise...

Just spoke to the head of Renault Sports division Asian / Pacific...we may see the Clio RS Cup as soon as December...the first batch will be fully optioned compared to VW's lazy poverty packs that are release first.

I definitely have to have the RS monitor...looks sick and if it has Australian circuits...great for track days!

Telling you brake temps, gearbox temp, clutch temps...a bloody must have in Australia if you ask me especially stop start traffic...arggghhh (permitted if you actually understand temperatures and heat thresholds for each mechanical item I've mentioned)

The RS monitor is pretty damn cool, but have you seen the Kia Pro_ceed GT's tacho? It's pretty amazing...

    3DR only (good) but 0-100 7.7 (bad)

Despite a nice cluster...I would never buy one, why?:

    1. Extremely poor resale value.
    2. Reading reviews it has piss poor launch / stop-start capabilities
    3. No offence...but Kia to me is cheap

Thank you for sharing the video Lucas!

I test drove the Audi A1 Sport S-line that was for sale (used)...oh boy haha should I dare say?

    Yes...Yes I will.

ok...so number 1. S-tronic / DQ200 clutch was shuddering / slipping like a mother! absolutely horrible especially in Sport.

    2. The oil light went on at the end of the test drive...derp.
    3. Checked the vin out...its under recall and had the recall carried out already...bit of a worry (I'm sure the recently recalled Polo GTI's need not worry!).
    4. Jerky from stand still with clutch slip from 1st/2nd and 2nd/3rd which would = both clutches are goooooooone.

I offered the dealership $25k...nothing more...nothing less haha and they declined saying they have to get the car repaired due to the amount of faults haha...whoops :p

Overall...waste of a lunch break...and the dealer was extremely embarrassed.

This is what the accelerator pedal said to the clutch...

    Hi Lads,
first time poster on here. This weekend going out to possibly purchase our 1st watercooled VW. Tossing up between the diesel Polo with sports option pack or the GTI ? Was going to head to McGrath @ Liverpool. Just after some feed back from real life experience & what would you buy ? Car is for dropping kids off to school and shopping trips etc.. (Wife)

I agree its not hot enough driveline wise, but the looks of it are great. It shows they are willing to be over the top, I think another generation or two and the pro_ceed series could be a tidy unit.

Also I think its handy to differentiate between a brands main and euro departments (ala Ford, Kia, Hyundai). The 5dr i30 is from Korea and fairly lame, but the 3dr is from europe and thanks to its euro tuning and better suspension is meant to be pretty good.

Avoid the diesel unless you are doing a lot of KM's and a lot of longer trips - otherwise you will get poor fuel economy and pre-mature issues with the DPF (diesel particulate filter). Diesels do not like short trips and stop start traffic. In this case, a 77TSI with sports pack would be much more suitable. In fact, the economy and torque of the 77TSI is so good that you could argue that the TDI has no real use in the Polo range.
