I agree, the 6r driving pleasure just doesn't deliver as much as the numbers/specs suggests. I am currently looking for an old battered Honda s2000 to become a track car. Only thing stopping me is a '99 with 100,000km+ on it still costs 20,000!!! what the hell!

Mx5 would make just a nice track car in my opinion. And are dirt cheap.
If you're not chasing a specific category that requires the S2000's spec's then check it out.
Slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Be like water my friend.

mx5 would be good, but I'm not a fan of the looks and the puny engine. I just love the noise of the 9000rpm engine and the old school VTEC crossover.

How about a 4 year old 350z Track for about 30k?

That's what I found. My 86 practically begs to be driven hard, but it also feels great when driving through the numerous 40kph zones around my place. The Polo was capable, but not encouraging. It was more like "Oh, yes, we can go hard if you really feel like you must. But, really, I'd rather not".

I ordered mine a couple of days before Christmas & picked it up a week ago. There are plenty of cancelled orders around.
