If you buy the Renault. I'll buy your intercooler.
RS4 Avant. Week off from signing. This won't actually replace the GTI but will replace our IX35 after the mrs finally got a well paying job after many years doing her PhD

Yes to Opel.
Should my budget have stretched that far, would definitely consider the Astra OPC, even based on looks alone (superficial, yes I know). Judging from reviews, it seems to be a sound drive.
But going back to the original question, the new Clio RS in the Cup chassis could be worth a look if you're wanting a similar sized hatchback?

Either an A45 if the price is right or a Lexus IS350. Was very close to buying a second hand IS350 when I settled on the Polo but I sometimes regret that decision.

I've had 3 VWs, and have just decided I've had it with their poor service, especially in Far North Qld...
So, could be 1-series Beemer (thinking 123d or 125i coupe), but unfortunately BMW is same dealer as VW...
alternatively, new Audi A3 4WD, yet to be revealed...or MB A250, was impressed by in the flesh appearance in next lane, although reviews suggest I should be rattled, just like them...(-:

Hope no one minds if I jump in here, given mine's a cousin of the Polo...
If Ford made the new Fiesta ST in a dual clutch auto I'd be still waiting for my "next" car. Otherwise, happy to consider something in the Fabia/Polo size range in 2015 (read best bang for my buck), whether it's the next variants of either, or Opel, Ford, even Kia or Hyundai.
Now gone.... 2012 Skoda Fabia RS

I would love to send a link of this thread to VW Australia.
LMAO
My last three cars including the Polo were "hot" hatches, prior to purchasing the Polo and an XR5 in 2008, I test drove the respective RS Meganes, both brilliant cars dynamically but resale was what stopped a purchase in both cases. The Polo was more of a practical purchase.
Next I think I'll head back to the used market and the less practical, one of the last V8 S5s would be nice as cruiser with AWD grip or a BMW 135i/Z4M, 370Z for RWDness.
