Haha lol that would be interesting to see - Dry clutch with launch control, don't think it's going to last long.
That's one thing VW got right, these dry clutch DSG's just are not built to do that kind of stuff and should be left to the wet clutch variants. I'm not saying dry clutch doesn't work but really only good for low torque applications. <200nm unless they fix the clutch material up...a lot!
Makes me wonder how there gearboxes would go in a normal NA engine? Could be less problems caused by heat as most VW engines produce max torque just over 1000rpm where a toyota for example will make it at 4500rpm. it won't be frying the clutch down low, and max torque will be delivered once the clutch is allready fully engaged.
Had some time to kill this morning so checked out the closing down sale at the Opel local dealer. That OPC Corsa is really a sweet little car 141kw 260Nm from a 1.6T but really what did it for me was the Recaro seats.
What a shame.

I'll be in this boat for a while since my Polo got written off. My main issue with the Clio is it being 5dr, I'm not sure the doors are big enough for me. The Polo 5dr is too small for me but the 3dr is fine, for instance. Normal Clio's will be here 2nd week of september btw.
Veloster turbo has zero headroom thanks to its standard sunroof + lame ergonomics and it doesn't really handle all that well.
Golf 7 GTI looks promising, but I really hope the 3dr makes it. Not too much of a fan of the interior tbh. The 103 Highline 5dr isn't all that interesting.
Kia Pro_ceed GT could be good, its more of a warm hatch though.
2014 Octavia RS looks perfect if the length of the car doesn''t hamper it, I drove the current RS and you don't realise its a sedan.
Polo facelift might be good enough to tempt me to get it again (I really, really liked my 3dr Polo GTI)
