If I had to get rims for mine, it would be a set of Weds TC105N's in 17x8 +42. Each to their own though, it depends on what style you like, what you're trying to achieve and your budget.

You'll be needing wheels that are 5x100 for the stud pattern.

As for offset I believe in the stock offset is 45 so look for something around that unless youre after a specific look.

6C's i believe still come with 17x7's. So again, you can go larger both size and width but will need to think about the offset to make sure it all fits!

    Hope this helps.

    From the Polo 'stickies' -

6R and 6C the fit will be the same and what you can get away with will very much depend on how low your car is, that is if you do intend to lower it.

You can get away with 17 x 8 35 offset or 17 x 8.25 38 offset with modest 25/40 lowering springs. With coilovers and a bit lower you will get some mild rubbing on the fronts but not drastic with these combos.

The wheels on the 6C were actually upgraded to 7.5" wide versus the 7" jobs on the older 6R.

I've just ordered a Golf 110TSi Highline for my wife and I noticed that it comes with 225/45/17 tyres on 17 x 7 wheels, but the Polo GTi has 215/40/17 on 17 x 7.5 wheels. One size wider tyres on one size narrower wheels, strange.

215/40/17 is an uncommon size and costs about $50 more than 215/45/17. I hate VW.
