The Bridgestone Potenza RE002 are absolutely brilliant in both the wet and dry.
The best tyres I have come across so far.

Looking at the The Bridgestone Potenza RE002's - is $308 fitted a decent price? Just got a quote from a local Bob Jane store.

I dont really have any issues with the stock tyres at the moment, but its good to know the price to replace them in ~12 months time.

Another tyre I absolutely love is the Potenza RE050A. Not sure if they have the appropriate size for Polo Gti.
You can't go wrong with either RE050A or RE002, they are definitely better than the OEM tyres on the polo gti

I've recently bought the RE002's for $300ea, not bad at all, obviously very grippy but let go progressively on the limit too. Still rate the RE050A's I had on my Liberty a number of years ago as the best tyre I've sampled, and I got nearly 50,000km out of that particular set! So as Melon Head says, you can't go wrong either way.

What's everyone's thoughts on the Continental Sport contact 5s?

My other options are Michelin Pilot Sport PS2s or Pirelli P Zero Neros

    Size is 215/35/18 or 225/35/18

Costco in Canberra quoted me for the Bridgestone RE002 at just under $220 per tyre fitted in 215/40/17 which needed to be ordered. 215/45/17 were only $180 per tyre which they had in stock. I'm sure other Costcos will do around that price. sometimes they have promos on a set of tyres like $50 off a set. Bob Jane wanted $275 per tyre in 215/40/17.
